“Hello! I come from Monaco and my goosebump moment was a concert I went to in 2014 in Lyon. It was a Thirty Seconds to Mars concert, and it was the first big concert I had ever attended. It was like the highlight of my life. Since I was a little kid, I always loved their music. So, that would be my goosebump moment, and it was really beautiful: the crowd was amazing, and the band was incredible. I absolutely loved it”.

The concert that marked a generation

Screams, jumps and tears of emotion and euphoria aroused the concert of 30 Seconds to Mars in Lyon, France in 2014. The band set a precedent for an entire generation that grew up, dreamed and lived with Jared Leto and the songs that became the anthem of many young people.

From the well-known and commercial “The Kill” and “From Yesterday”, to the newest 30 Seconds to Mars production, “Race”, “Closer to the edge”, “Kings and Queens”, “Do or die”, among others, awakened the emotion contained for years in the audience.

In a show full of lights, sounds, colors and dreams fulfilled, 30 Seconds to Mars transported the audience in Lyon to a world where it is worth living and fighting for what one longs for, and where you only need to believe to be “30 seconds from Mars”.

Thirty Seconds to Mars, an iconic band

30 Seconds to Mars is an American alternative rock band formed in 1998 in Los Angeles (California). It originally consisted of three members: Jared Leto, Matt Wachter and Shannon Leto, who were later joined by guitarist Solon Bixler.

Formed in 1998 by brothers Jared and Shannon Leto, the band 30 Seconds to Mars, influenced by bands such as Pink Floyd, Kiss and Alice Cooper, released its first album in 2002, titled “30 Seconds to Mars”. The album, produced by the two brothers alone, sold more than 750,000 copies worldwide, although its two singles, “Capricorn” and “Edge Of The Earth” achieved only regular U.S. radio play.

The band’s name was taken from a thesis that argued that we are literally 30 seconds away from Mars and is inspired by the contemporary world, suggesting that we would be seconds away from this mundane air. Mars has always been an iconographic image, as it is a planet close to the Roman God of War.

To date, the group has sold around 11 million copies worldwide. The band has received numerous accolades and awards, with a total of 50 awards out of approximately 70 nominations.

Among their most notable awards are four MTV Europe Music Awards. In addition, last December they managed to enter the Guinness Book of Records, obtaining the record for the largest number of concerts in a single tour, more than 300 during their last tour. Approximately 311 without counting the acoustic shows, counting the latter, the number of concerts would rise to 366.

Who is Jared Leto?

Jared Leto is also an actor. He was born in Louisiana on December 26, 1971. In his childhood, and after his parents’ divorce, he lived with his brother Shannon and his mother Constance in very different locations, such as Haiti, California and Colorado.

After attending various high schools in Oakton, Newton and Washington, Jared studied art at Philadelphia University with the intention of becoming a painter but dropped out to take acting classes at the School of Visual Arts in New York.

In the mid-1990s Leto became popular in the United States thanks to the television series “My so-called life”. His film debut came with “How to Make an American Quilt” (1995), a title directed by Jocelyn Moorhouse.

Later he appeared in films such as “Switchback” (1997), a thriller by Jeb Stuart, “Basil” (1998), an adaptation of a novel by Wilkie Collins, “Urban Legend” (1998), a horror film made by Jamie Blanks, “The Thin Red Line” (1998), a war title directed by Terrence Malick or “Fight Club” (1999) by David Fincher, who also directed him in the suspense film with Jodie Foster “Panic Room” (2002).

In recent years he has acted in “Blade Runner 2049” (2017), “House of Gucci” (2021) and he has portrayed The Joker in “Suicide Squad” (2016) and “Justice League” (2021).

In 2002 he released his first rock album with the band Thirty Seconds To Mars titled as the group. Later he released “A Beautiful Lie” (2005), “This Is War” (2009) and “Love, Lust, Faith + Dreams” (2013).
