She revealed in an interview that she always wanted to write about her parents’ divorce because it is a crucial part of her life, but it was too bitter.

Sasha Sloan’s real name is Alexandra Yatchenko and she is 26 years old. She is a Russian-American singer-songwriter who grew up outside of Boston and spent a great deal of time with her Siberian grandparents during the summer.
At the age of 3, her parents divorced and she found an escape in another world: Music. Because of her passion for the piano, she even wrote her first song at the age of 9.
At 19, she decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a songwriter, where she wrote “Dancing With Your Ghost”, gaining a large number of fans around the world and a large number of Chinese followers.
But even with some big hits under her belt, Sasha didn’t start her singing career right away. Collaborating with big names like Camila Cabello, Charli XCX, and Kygo, she finally paved her own way.
Her career has been inspired by female powerhouses like Amy Winehouse, Brandi Carlisle and Regina Spektor, and her music is often melancholic with her soft voice carrying listeners through.
