It was maybe the third or fourth time we’d seen each other. We went inside to take a seat at a restaurant while our friends were in the car. We sat across from each other, he looked at me and said, ‘So, are you happy,’ that caught me off guard. I felt like it pierced my heart because I thought I had been faking it so well, and it was like someone could see right through me. And then the whole first verse came out: ‘How can you see into my eyes, like open doors,’ ” she said.
“It really made me feel and recognize the sense of longing that I had to get to a better place. It made me feel like I was traveling,” Lee added.
