Ximena: my goosebump moment is the song “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen, but in the a capella version of Pentatonix. That song really touches me spiritually and as I reflect on life, I realise that in difficult moments, you have to have gratitude and be thankful for each day spent with family and loved ones.

Kirsten: my goosebump moment is when I hear the lyrics of the Bob Dylan song “Boots of Spanish Leather”. This song is special to me because it’s about two people and one of them is leaving and I’ve lived away from my family for six years now so it always makes me think of them. I always listen to this song as my plane takes off and I get Goosebumps every single time.

Albert: my goosebump moment was when I took part in performing the 7th Symphony of Anton Bruckner. It is a wonderful piece of classical music, especially the beginning when the violins and strings start to play very softly. Hearing it live as part of the group was mind-blowing.

Rajashree: my goosebump moment is the movie “Bohemian Rhapsody”, especially the final Live Aid concert. It was totally amazing. Right before Freddie Mercury reveals to his fellow band members that he has AIDS. In spite of this, the band and Freddie Mercury are in great shape at Live Aid.

Mariam: there are so many songs that give me goosebumps, but my first experience with such a song was “Sign of the times” by Harry Styles. The meaning for me is that even in the worst situation we need to be brave, stop crying and just do our best even at our worst! This song brings back so many memories and makes me feel good.

María: my goosebump moment is the song “Ta Smyrneika Tragoudia”, which means “the songs of Izmir” and the song literally tells about the hardships that people had to face there. My family is originally from Izmir and was chased out by the Turkish army. This song gives me Goosebumps and tears in my eyes every time I hear it.

Lauren: my goosebump moment is this amazing opera called “The Magic Flute”. It’s one of Mozart’s master pieces and there’s the solo of “The queen of the night”. The singer is Diana Danbrau and her voice is powerful and passionate. It has made me fall in love with Opera!

Aubienne: my goosebump moment is Taylor Swift’s new lyric video of “Love Story”. Taylor has been a huge part of my childhood and listening to it after 10 years reminds me of a time when life was still simple and fun. The song also reminds me of my own personal battles and that I now try to speak my mind and not let myself feel small just to make others comfortable.

William: my goosebump moment has always been listening to Whitney Houston. I have always loved her music and when she died, I felt personally affected. The world had lost an icon. Her music was so impactful. I felt like we somehow failed her.

Valeria: my goosebump moment happened during the Oscars in 2016 when Sam Smith performed the song “Writing’s on the wall”. This song has very powerful lyrics and Sam Smith has an amazing voice, but for me, I especially loved the orchestra music. This song is a masterpiece, it gets me every time.

Cassandra: my goosebump moment is the song “What other people say” by Demi Lovato and Sam Fischer. Every lyric in that song is so relatable and impactful. Strangers can just say whatever they want without realizing the impact it has. The song reminds me that we shouldn’t care about what other people say, just the people that matter.

Danica: my goosebump moment was Marcelito Pomoy’s audition for America’s Got Talent with “The Prayer”. Marcelito’s voice is extraordinary, he’s a very talented human being. He is now one of my favorite singers in the world because any song that he sings gives me Goosebumps.

Coralie: my goosebump moment is a documentary about ballet dancer Sergei Polunin and then especially the part where he dances to the song “Take me to church” where you can feel all the pain that goes hand in hand with the special talent this man has.

Marta: my goosebump moment is the Prelude of the third act of “Traviata”, an opera by Giuseppe Verdi, a famous composer of Italy. I share a deep bond with this opera because my grandma always made me listen to it when I was a little girl. Every time the music starts playing I get chills. It is so beautiful, so passionate.

May: my goosebump moment is when I saw Kechi Okwuchi, one of the survivors of the Sosoliso Airline crash, sing at America’s Got Talent. She has been able to pull through the scars with so much courage. It’s amazing. She’s an encouragement for any young person out there.

Yosef: my goosebump moment was when I first heard the song “Iboprofen”. It is written by one of Norway’s greatest and most influential rap duos. The song is about Megdi’s childhood, one of the two persons in the rap duo. The song is very light. The first time I heard it, I got goosebumps all over my whole body. It was a truly tremendous experience.

Dean: my goosebump moment was when I first got to play the piano. I was about 12 years old, and a friend showed me. After five-six years, I finally had an opportunity to play piano again and it was amazing. I just love music in all aspects because you can create. I got shivers because playing my first song was so emotional. It’s all about connecting to people through music.

Misa: my goosebump moment was in 2020 when I heard a song called “PTSD”. It was such an inspirational song, it made me realize no matter how hard our life was, we can still achieve and be positive as much as we can. I was shocked and got goosebumps while I listened to the song. It is an extraordinary concept and nowadays it still guides me towards my journey.
